How we work

Five stages, and you always know which one you're in.

Most of what goes wrong on a building job goes wrong before anyone picks up a trowel. We front-load the detail so the price you agree is the price you pay.

Survey

We come out, measure up and talk honestly about what’s possible and what it’s likely to cost. If we think the idea won’t work, or won’t be worth the money, we say so at this stage rather than after you’ve paid for drawings.

Drawings

Architectural and structural drawings, planning applications and Building Regulations submissions, handled for you. We can work from your architect’s drawings just as happily.

Fixed quote

An itemised written price against the drawings, so you can see what each part of the job costs. We keep provisional sums to a minimum, and we tell you exactly where they are and why.

Build

A start date, a written programme and a named contact for the whole job. Floors sheeted, dust extraction on every cut, and the site swept at the end of each day.

Handover

Certificates, guarantees and sign-off collected in one file, including the FENSA certificate for any glazing, which your solicitor will ask for when you sell.

Straight answers

Before you commit

What is actually included in your quote?

Everything specified on the drawings: labour, materials, plant, waste and the trades needed to complete it. We list provisional sums separately so you can see which parts of the price are estimates and which are fixed.

How do payments work?

Payment is staged against the programme, not taken up front. Stages are agreed in writing before we start, and each one is due once that part of the work is complete.

Will the same people be on site every day?

Nearly every trade is on our own books, so the faces on your job stay the same. You get one named contact for the whole build rather than a different subcontractor to chase each week.

What happens if something goes wrong after you finish?

Call us. Our work is guaranteed, and supplied and fitted double glazing carries a ten-year insurance-backed guarantee through the Glass and Glazing Federation, so that cover stands independently of us.

How disruptive is the work going to be?

Honestly, some. But we sheet floors, use dust extraction on every cut, and sweep the site at the end of each day. Cleanliness is the single thing customers mention most often in our reviews.

Get started

Tell us what you’re thinking of building.

Send a couple of photos and a rough idea of what you want. We’ll tell you straight whether it’s realistic, and roughly what it costs, before anyone books a survey.
